Brilliant song! The beat was also used later on in 1991 in Michael Cretu´s super project "Enigma" and featured the track "Callas Went Away".

The 80s left a taste in my mind for music and lyrics that can never be replaced. Yes, a lot of Miami Vice episodes helped launch these songs into orbit. Back then, the television was our computer and cell phone. I remember when Friday Night Videos came on through the air and not cable, because we lived in the country. You were lucky to have a soda pop, and if you had some peanuts and a radio nearby you were in heaven. We had to drive to the mall, pretty far, to buy a cassette tape of your desire. Things are just so instant and fast now and it makes me want to go back. I remember the first time I heard Mike and the Mechanics, Silent Running, I was stone cold hooked. Funny how the instruments and lyrics are used by Phil Collins on his hits. Hope everyone is doing ok.

Even now all these years later, such a beautiful and haunting song. Paul Carrack I believe. This album was tragically underrated

This song takes me back to my first love from back in the day. She grew apart, I never did. In the end, I had to let go, but my heart never really did. I heard from her a few years later. She actually called before she left the continent. Now she's on the other side of the planet living her dream. Sometimes, at sunset, just before the last limb of the sun disappears below the horizon, I sing a few lines from this song. When you rise over her land, take my love with you great Sol and give it to her. Let her know I'll be waiting here for so long. Par avion.

Listened to this nonstop after it’s release. Fell in love for the first time, & this song was our anthem. He worked weeks at a time away, & i would miss him so desperately, especially at night. Par Avion ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Phil Collins' vibes here and it's sang by Mike Rutherford I recognized his voice because he made an album in the early 80's which failed totally. This track was in miami Vice's episode I don't remember the title but yeah I'm a fan of these series🙂
